2019 Coaching Staff
Katie started playing water polo at Melville Water Polo Club at the age of seven following in the footstep of her four older sisters. She has represented the club and Australia at junior and senior levels. Further details of her water polo career are as follows:
- National Women’s team from 2005 – 2008 achieving a silver in World League in 2007.
- Five x Australian Water Polo League Champion with the Fremantle Marlins.
- Coached junior and senior teams within the club and currently coaching the Marlins AWL team.
Katie has also been a member of the club committee since 2015 running the club’s social functions and facilities and as a member of the coaches’ sub-committee.
Katie has a Bachelor of Science from Curtin University and currently works for the WA Department of Health as a Senior Strategic Policy Officer for Aboriginal Health. Through her career she works with a wide range of community groups and state and commonwealth government agencies and it involves project management, research and analysis work and the development and implementation of strategic directions.
She has always had a strong connection to sport and believes in the power of sporting clubs to build communities and to help support the development of hard working, confident young people.
